- Fun weekend - Today is the last day of my long weekend... Sadness... Usually at the end of the year, holiday mood sets in and you just feel like slacking all the way... But can't! The project is moving so fast and everyday, everyone is on your toes... You have to work fast and be vigilant all the time~ I had a good break... but just don't feel like getting my butt back to work... ........................................................... - Celebrating Puipui's Bdae - Last thursday was puipui's bdae... Booked a room at Hotel Naumi to celebrate... And at the same time to rejuvenate myself... really need a good break~ A good break means to immerse yourself in pampering and sometimes abit of luxury... Hotel staycations has always been my thing... I love the smell of fresh linen in a room where service staff prep every single detail to perfection... At hotel Naumi... I feel pampered... and love their service! I'm always on a lookout for small to medium size boutique hotels that have unique design and character... The lobby of Hotel Naumi caught my attention when I passed by and told myself I have to stay there... Good bye Gallery Hotel!!! Now I have a new love in the house! 
Their lobby looks prettier at night... When I entered the hotel, I started to evaluate their design... occupational hazard... I can't find their reception counter!!! The whole lobby is occupied by the bar or seating area and the reception is hidden in a corner with no signs that reads Reception... Puipui dropped me off to check in first... but later we found out that the Hotel has no carpark of its own... It was a big let down!!! Carparks are so damn important!! Its one service that I thought all hotels should have! Well... I really did feel shitty in the beginning... But cheered up when I was introduced to my room~ I booked a Deluxe room but they upgraded me to a 2-bedroom suite... Sweet!

After inspecting the room, puipui bought lunch and we had a little lunch in... 
After lunch, I immediately headed to the bathroom to have a little spa session! 
Isn't it nice to just soak in a bath of bubbles, listen to music and let the busy world pass by you... Good times always pass quickly and its time for dinner!!

Thought of a few places for dinner... But settled for Re!Fill after watching a variety show... 
I don't even wanna upload the food pictures... All I can say is that the experience was a flop! We reserved a seat the day before... but it was like it doesn't matter... coz the good seats was all taken up and we were ashered to a seat somewhere in the restaurant near the kitchen... Secondly... the main point of the day seem to be introducing their set dinner... Ala Carte was like not encouraged or something?? I ordered a appetizer, followed by soup then the main course... We were served the appetizer, then the soup came like 1 minute later... Luckily the appetizer portion was quite small so we manage to finish it before the soup came... When we were about to enjoy our lobster bisque... I only drank barely 2 table spoons of soup... the main dish came!! I was like huh?? What was I supposed to do? Gulp my soup down so that the main dish will still be hot when I wanna eat it or leave the soup and start on the main course? Am I not at a hotel's restaurant or is this restaurant trying to tell me they dunno the service standards? Even Cafe Cartel let me finish my soup before they serve me the main course! I was alittle pissed off at this point... but was even more agitated when I see the standard of the food... I can tell you it looked like some microwave food that I can prepare better~ But whatever right? It wasn't expensive... I started to look over to the other tables and see if it was the same... The people having set meals are having a better time... They get to finish their salads... then their soup then the main course... So they get to have that but I was thrown all the food at one time like trying to finish up the job or something? I was so so pissed off!! I get the message~ Only eat set dinners at Re!Fill coz you get better service and maybe better food and you only need to pay $15.90++ Thats a good deal! Don't get the ala carte... coz service staff will get confused which dish should come first and you pay twice as much! What message did I get from this? This restaurant is telling you they are promoting cheap deals and you get better experience out of it! Bleh~ Will I ever return? Yah for the set dinners... Why not? This is a set dinner place and its cheap~ We decided to skip dessert and head to Bugis to get some wine and cakes...

The entertainment for the night was to try out some kids game on Wii.... Yes! They loan Wii for free! They have Xbox and DVDs too~ I like.... 
The next day, we headed for the pool early in the morning coz check out was at 12pm... The pool was great!!! The view especially... I lay in the little pool bed and looked at the city in front of me... I wanna live like this forever! 
Had Mcdonald breakfast and a short nap before checking out... Both Pui and I were so tempted to extend... but decided not to... Donut is alone at home waiting for us... Will return next time!

Feel like just slacking, watch some movies and have a good dinner later~ My short break has come to an end... Next up is the long weekend! 3 weeks later... Bleh~ Looking forward! |
